NRDC's Gift Planning Program
You can leave a legacy that will protect wilderness and wildlife, and do well for yourself as well as
for the planet, through the financial and estate planning decisions you make today.
NRDC's Gift Planning program offers a variety of giving options, including Charitable Gift
Annuities, Charitable Remainder Trusts, Pooled Income Fund gifts, and bequests. Each option
provides unique advantages, allowing you to tailor your giving to meet your personal financial
needs and goals. For example, our income-producing gift plans enable you to make a gift to
NRDC while providing income for yourself or others. In fact, you may be able to increase your
spendable income through the combined yields and unique tax savings offered by these plans.
Tax benefits can include tax-free income, reduction or avoidance of capital gains tax, charitable
income tax deductions, or reduction or elimination of estate taxes.
Many NRDC gift plans are appropriate for supporters age 60 or older. Younger supporters, age 40 and up, may consider the benefits of a deferred-payment Charitable Gift Annuity
or a Charitable Remainder Trust. And NRDC supporters of any age can make provisions for our
future environmental programs through remembering NRDC in their estate plans.
All participants in NRDC's Gift Planning Program are honored with Membership in NRDC's Legacy Leaders -- a select group of individuals who have shown an exceptional commitment to
NRDC's future and the future of our environment.
Should you wish to support NRDC's current environmental programs with an outright gift, please visit the NRDC Membership area. For
information about outright gifts of stocks or mutual fund shares, which can provide
capital gains tax relief, please see Giving Stock or Other Securities to NRDC.
Our Gift Planning staff would be pleased to provide you details about the benefits any of the gift
plans described above (all communications with us are confidential and do not obligate you to NRDC in any way). We also encourage you to consult with your attorney, accountant or financial
advisor to evaluate the suitability of different gift options for your situation.
