Blogosphere Abuzz about Teachers Association's Refusal to Accept 50,000 Free Copies of "An Inconvenient Truth"

NRDC Trustee Laurie David's 11/26 Washington Post op-ed, Science a la Joe Camel, raised questions about corporate funding for the National Science Teachers Association (NSTA), and whether contributions from ExxonMobil, the American Petroleum Institute and others might be the reason that the organization turned down an offer for 50,000 free copies of the global warming film "An Inconvenient Truth." (Laurie David was one of the producers of the movie.)

The piece created a stir. It's been Slashdotted and covered in BoingBoing; other highlights include conversations in the science blogs Pharyngula and Bad Astronomy, the Wisconsin Society of Science Teachers, and ThinkProgress.

On December 8, writing in the Huffington Post, David further detailed the relationships between the NSTA and Big Oil; more fireworks are sure to ensue. See below to follow the conversation.
