Robust Infrastructure Plan Must Address Climate Change

WASHINGTON (April 30, 2019) – Democratic congressional leaders said today they agreed to pursue an infrastructure package with President Donald Trump.

The following is a statement from Stephanie Gidigbi, director of policy and partnerships in the Healthy People & Thriving Communities program at the Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC):

“America needs a robust infrastructure plan that helps transition our energy supply to clean sources, addresses the current threats from extreme weather, and redresses the legacy of past investments. With the commitment from the White House and congressional leaders, we have an opportunity to fix our infrastructure for the future while preserving existing environmental protections in the law.”
