Zak Accuardi advocates for increased public investment in transportation infrastructure that makes it safe, affordable, and convenient for people to walk, roll, bike, and take buses and trains. He leads NRDC's national policy advocacy to leverage transportation funding to design streets and communities that enable and encourage zero-emissions mobility choices. Previously, he worked on TransitCenter's research team, where he co-authored national policy reports on topics ranging from strategic approaches to public procurement to transit equity, also leading research on bus reliability in New York City and national, pre-COVID transit ridership declines. He also consulted on transportation policy and climate change mitigation with private companies and organizations, including the World Bank and Project Drawdown. Accuardi is based in Berkeley, CA.
