Air pollution from oil and gas production

This week NRDC issued a new fact sheet on the air pollution resulting from oil and gas production in the Rocky Mountain region. The problems include hazardous air pollutants, greenhouse gasses, particulates, and more.  For example, western Wyoming, one of our nation's most rural areas, has experienced ozone levels rivaling Los Angeles and Houston!  The good news is that there is technology readily available to help industry control the emissions.  Absent voluntary action by companies, however, we need government action to protect our air.  While our fact sheet focusses on the Rocky Mountain region, these same issues are concerns wherever drilling is occurring.
