Jerry Epstein

Senior Trial Attorney

Jerry Epstein focuses on enforcement litigation, including an action to ensure safe drinking water for residents of Newark, New Jersey, a lawsuit to remediate toxic pollution in a river in Maine, and a suit challenging a California chemical plant’s unlawful treatment of hazardous wastes. Following a clerkship with a federal district court judge in Washington, D.C., Epstein began his career as a trial attorney with the Civil Division of the U.S. Department of Justice. He then worked for more than 25 years in a national law firm where he served as co-chair of the complex commercial litigation practice group. Epstein holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and a JD from the University of Pennsylvania Law School, where he was a comment editor on the Law Review. Epstein is based in NRDC's Washington, D.C., office.
